Oh I loved this day! Hanging out with the wonderful designer @justine_tabak and getting to wear and cook in her stunning dresses was a DREAM. If you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know I’m a dress obsessive – I’ve always found wearing dresses in the kitchen the easiest attire. Ironically I wouldn’t say I was particularly ‘girlie’ but as a curvy woman I’ve always found running around the kitchen in something loose suits me best. Esp when there’s lot of lifting, bending, loading etc on shoots and long days. No fidgeting or potential builders bums. A dress with pockets (like Justines) is basically the dream.

I spent the day cooking recipes from Nistisima (saffron braised fennel with harissa, griddled watermelon and pistachio pesto, koulouri with everything). And even roped my mum and the girls along for the shoot. Sign up to @justine_tabak for the newsletter and all the shots. I adore them all! The one of my mum and me with elektra 💔 But then I would, they were taken by fave @kristinperers. Plus beautiful words by the clever @minaholland who managed to immerse herself in our world and create poetry.

Thank you all ladies. I’ll def be sharing more from this shoot. What a day ❤️ 🍉 🧡💛☀️

It’s our 5th Birthday tomorrow 🥳 to celebrate and say thank you we’re gifting free pain au chocs in all three sites with every hot drink purchase. This will of course be until stocks last so come early! Our bakers are making as many as possible.

We would like to take this time to thank all of our customers over the past 5 years. We wouldn’t be here without your support, generosity and love of pastries, pasta & coffee. You’ve helped us build the amazing communities that we are surrounded by and seeing the friendships formed and special moments like the two occasions a bride and groom have started their wedding day with a bacon & maple & two flat whites, has been pretty epic. Also big shout out to those 5 year olds we’ve know for their whole lives, seeing them pretty much everyday, you know who you are.

These photos of my Mushroom and Cabbage Pan-Fried Buns (Sheng Jian Bao) are too beautiful not to share. Instantly hungry 😋! These buns are totally make-able; the fry-steam cooking method is very forgiving too. I hope you give them a go!

I developed this recipe for @kingarthurbaking using @joyosity’s mother dough recipe. Find the recipe in @kingarthurbaking’s website or via link in my bio.

How Food Companies Can Create Great Instagram Posts

In the realm of Instagram, where visuals reign supreme, food companies find themselves in a sweet spot. With its ability to make users stop scrolling and start drooling, Instagram provides an unparalleled platform for food brands to showcase their offerings. However, standing out in a sea of appetizing visuals requires more than just a pretty plate. Here’s how food companies can craft Instagram posts that not only look delicious but also drive engagement and brand loyalty.

Embrace High-Quality Visuals

The first bite is with the eye! High-resolution photos and videos are non-negotiable for food companies on Instagram. Invest in good lighting and consider professional photography to make your dishes look as tantalizing as possible. Remember, the goal is to make your audience taste the food with their eyes.

Tell a Story with Captions

While a picture may be worth a thousand words, don’t underestimate the power of a captivating caption. Share the inspiration behind a dish, the story of sourcing your ingredients, or a special cooking technique you used. Captions that evoke emotion or curiosity can significantly boost engagement.

Utilize Hashtags Strategically

Hashtags extend the reach of your posts beyond your current followers. Use a mix of general food hashtags (#foodie, #instafood) and more specific ones related to your post (#veganrecipes, #farmtofork). This strategy helps your content get discovered by users passionate about specific food niches.

Engage with Your Food Community

Instagram is a social platform, so be social! Respond to comments, engage with other food accounts, and participate in community hashtags or challenges. Building relationships with your audience and peers in the food community can increase your visibility and credibility.

Showcase Behind-the-Scenes Content

People love to see the magic behind their favorite dishes. Share behind-the-scenes content from your kitchen, introduce your team, or give a sneak peek into your ingredient sourcing process. This type of content adds authenticity to your brand and builds a deeper connection with your audience.

Highlight Special Offers and Events

Use Instagram to promote special offers, events, or new menu items. Limited-time offers or behind-the-scenes looks at event preparations can create excitement and encourage your followers to engage with your brand offline as well.

Experiment with Instagram Features

Don’t limit yourself to just regular posts. Instagram Stories, Reels, IGTV, and Live Videos are dynamic ways to share your content. These features can be particularly effective for time-sensitive promotions, quick recipes, or interactive Q&A sessions.

Analyze and Adapt

Regularly review your Instagram insights to understand what types of content resonate most with your audience. Notice patterns in post timings, types of visuals, and caption lengths that lead to higher engagement, and adapt your strategy accordingly.

For food companies, Instagram is not just a platform to share content; it’s a digital dining table to gather your community, share your stories, and showcase your culinary creations. By focusing on quality visuals, engaging storytelling, strategic hashtag use, and community interaction, you can create Instagram posts that not only attract followers but also convert them into loyal customers. Remember, the secret ingredient to Instagram success is authenticity—let your brand’s unique flavor shine through in every post.

As the digital appetite for visually stunning and engaging content continues to grow, food companies that master the art of Instagram posting will find themselves feasting on the fruits of increased brand visibility, customer engagement, and ultimately, business success.
